I understand, at least at a basic level, that the light-difference between inside and outside, determines whether someone walking past my house can see into my room or not.
Partially-see-through materials, such as net curtains, adjust the light difference needed (make it harder to see in/out).
Is there an everyday-test that can be done to determine, from inside my house, whether someone outside my house could see in through my curtains? e.g. "If I can see them they can't see me" (but obviously that doesn't work)
In other words, what's the conditions that make me able to see out but not in, and can I tell from inside when those conditions are met?
